We're hiring: Events and Fundraising Administrator

21 Jun, 2017

The Mental Health Foundation (MHF) is New Zealand’s only national mental health charity. Our purpose is to create a society where all people have the support, resources and behaviour that allows them to feel good, function well and sustain their mental health.

We're seeking a helping hand for a three-month period (24–35 hours a week negotiable) to join our vibrant fundraising team. This is a new role in the organisation and has come about due to the large number of people who want to fundraise or host fundraisers for mental health.

  • Supporting the Coordinator
  • An organisation making a difference
  • Promoting health and wellbeing
  • Putting the fun in fundraising
  • Modern, vibrant workplace

You'll have great written and verbal communication skills, be highly organised, and driven to achieve results. We're looking for a positive, proactive, solutions-focused person who has great relationship skills.

You'll need to be a team player, with a can-do attitude and outgoing personality who can work alongside the Fundraising Coordinator, and our growing number of fundraisers.

You'll primarily be responsible for ensuring everyone who contacts the MHF and wants to fundraise is responded to in a timely manner, that details are correctly entered into spreadsheets and databases, and that the fundraiser has information, tools and ideas to maximise their fundraising efforts.

Most of this communication is done on the telephone, so we really need someone who is confident in calling people and building relationships over the phone.

The goal is that people who fundraise for the MHF have a positive and fun experience and that they feel supported, encouraged and appreciated.

You'll also be responsible for completing weekly event fundraising reports to track fundraising results against forecasts. There are also data entry and database management tasks as part of this role. The salary for this position is $48,000 (pro-rata).

The role ideally requires demonstrated skills and experience in:

  • Data entry and database use
  • Accurate record keeping
  • Working as part of a team

The MHF actively promotes the articles of Te Tiriti o Waitangi, and values diversity in the workplace. We are an EEO employer. Information about the MHF is available at www.mentalhealth.org.nz (click on the "ABOUT" tab).
