It’s not too late to play the Wellbeing Game!

The game that is helping to improve thousands of Kiwis’ mental wellbeing is being played right now around the country – and it’s not too late for you to join in the fun!

Throughout the month of October, New Zealanders around the country are playing The Wellbeing Game in their homes, workplaces, community centres, schools and libraries. Already, over 2000 people, playing as individuals or members of teams have logged 18,000 hours of wellbeing – and they’ve only been playing for one week!

The Wellbeing Game is simple to play. In teams or as individuals, participants log the number of minutes they spend engaging with the Mental Health Foundation’s Five Ways to Wellbeing. Teams can see how their competition is faring around the country by checking on the nationwide leaderboard.

The Five Ways to Wellbeing – Give, Take Notice, Keep Learning, Be Active and Connect – are proven to make a positive difference to people’s mental wellbeing. It can be something as simple as enjoying a walk in the fresh air, or catching up with a friend over coffee – the Five Ways are about noticing the things that make your life a little brighter every day and taking pleasure in them.

Playing the Wellbeing Game is a great way to introduce the Five Ways into your life. And, while you work on boosting your mental wellbeing, you will also be in with a chance to win some amazing prizes, including an Air New Zealand mystery break and a morning-tea shout for you and your colleagues.
