Chief executive Judi Clements moving on

8 Dec, 2015

After almost 11 years leading the Mental Health Foundation from strength to strength, our chief executive Judi Clements has decided it’s time to move on.

“Working for the Mental Health Foundation has been a privilege,” Judi says.

“The MHF is a unique organisation in New Zealand, with a focus on positive mental health and wellbeing, and an ambitious vision of a society where all people flourish.”

Judi will leave the Mental Health Foundation at the end of February 2016, and the organisation is recruiting a new chief executive.

The Mental Health Foundation has exciting and challenging work ahead. It’s still working to expand thinking about positive mental health, to stop discrimination, prevent suicide and reach all of New Zealand through engaging messages and partnerships.

“The new chief executive will be joining an organisation that promotes diversity and inclusion, combats stigma and discrimination, and eliminates the barriers people face that prevent them from enjoying good mental health and wellbeing,” Mental Health Foundation board chair Jeremy Gardiner says.

“We are looking for an exceptional chief executive based in Auckland to lead this organisation through its next phase, giving effect to the Foundation’s ambitious vision,” Mr Gardiner says.

Reporting to the chair and accountable to the board of trustees, the new chief executive will be responsible for delivering the strategic direction of the organisation, as well as ensuring that key objectives are achieved.

The new chief executive will have:

  • Sector experience within NG, health, education, social development or other relevant areas.
  • Experience leading a significant organisation through culture change.
  • Strong stakeholder management skills, with excellent communication and media skills which enable you to influence stakeholders both internally and externally.
  • Political acumen, with proven leadership experience in a commercial, social enterprise or other relevant environment.

This is an exciting opportunity to lead this well-respected organisation into the future. If you are interested in leading the Mental Health Foundation’s work toward a society where all people flourish, act now!
